Space Was Cool
That just about sums it up. Chicago based space-rock band Space Was Cool produces ethereal vibrations that reach through the farthest nether regions of the cosmos and comfortably transports directly to the inner labyrinthian-core of the cerebellum. The deep tones and singed chorus lines wormholes a path that keeps the blood rushing to every limb. Born out of the allegiance to sci-fi and an cultivated eclectic palette of musical-visionaries Space Was Cool hits an abysmal pulse on and off stage. The quartet is steadily cleaving it’s way into the dark matter of the Midwest music scene and comes hard with phasers set to stun all who attend a live performance. With the self-titled release just hitting the online stores and airwaves the epoch of space travel never seemed so instrumentally in reach.
Beery Method Studios had the pure pleasure of working with the Space Was Cool rockonauts. Art direction for this project came with ease. Collaborating with executive producer/bassist Karp made for a seamless effort in painting life into a cosmic vista that no other band had yet explored. Combining stylized photography, merging planets with rockets, creating a lock and key portal to space, and taking mathematical and particle theory elements to evoke the serendipitous quality of the outer galactic nature of the album proved to be a prominently successful package.
