Big news, San Francisco: The Diana World Tour has arrived in the United States, and San Francisco is the first stop! Beery Method had the honor of customizing one of the Lomography Society’s Diana F+ for the event. Taking the custom to the ultimate side of creative conjunction Beery produced a destructible character stand/tripod titled Mister Rustic. Come see the traveling Detrich Collection of original Diana clones, as well as some customized clones by local SF artists. Don’t miss the kickoff for the party of the summer!
Mister Rustic incorporates the old school aesthetic of bronze chrome detailing with wiry arms and hands similar to the animated anamorphic cartoon characters of the early 1900’s. The concept relates to the archaic analog properties of the wonderful Diana F+ camera and the development process that is part of the methodology in using the image capture tool. I created the piece organically without any immense blueprint or structure which is also indicative of the Lomography slogan: “Don’t think just shoot!”
Digging into my 3D bag o tricks I had a blast putting together Mister Rustic. Breaking into
the clay and forming a reconstructible character form can be a challenge. Check out the process video below.
