As I get into my wood panel media I like to experiment with different paints, finishes, and inks. After prepping a few panels with latex, brushing on burnt sienna oils, splattering mineral spirits, and valspar spray coating I dug into this skull design I had floating around. The blasted skull is morphing into a rebel alliance tie-fighter helmet. The skull and helmet were all hand-brush inked. Bringing a compliment of color to the piece seemed necessary. What better way to use slime/lime green than to create the oozing effect of puke? This panel is roughly 12×18 inches with two more skull counterparts on their way. Here are a few close ups:
