It is very rare that I ‘redo’ or ever replicate my own creations once I release a collection. The ever popular Pulp Street is one of those rather iconic from the Pop Fiction Collection. Collectors and parody mashup fans alike want an original and being that it is in my power and right to reproduce the work I will sometimes revisit my love for a piece.

The redux or version X is never the same as the initial original work. I took it upon myself to not paint by numbers and inject as much of the organic painting process as best as I could. The dripping textural background cannot be reproduced verbatim however it was nailed down fairly accurately even with the effect of gravity. I made just a few tweaks to differentiate this piece, that is the same size 4×4′, from the prototype Pulp Street painting. The forms are more defined, the eyes of the characters are more bulged and animesque, and I added some stenciled pattern work into the piece. The overall effect is generally the same with more of a street flair and accentuated elements that made its forerunner so effective.

This new Pulp Street v. 2.0 is now happily hanging in a collection in California. Interested parties who wish to acquire their very own originals please contact BEERY METHOD STUDIOS for commission prices and shipping specifics.
