The awesome crew and super awesome curator MJ over at TeeFury printed up a limited run of my Delta design. These went up for sale for a 24 hour stint so if you like it and missed it ask them to reprint. The shirts came out dope!

Here is the interview:
Tell us the background of this design.
I’m really into vintage / classic sci-fi and mystery publications such as Amazing and Astounding from the 1950’s. Among so many stories that pepper that decade there is the common “man vs. alien” theme. In many of the short stories of the era authors would describe these villainous creatures who attack the human characters from a dark abyss. It is typical for the human to see only slimy tentacles reaching from the depths and not catch a full glimpse of their alien adversary. I liked the idea of capturing a struggling fight between space man and the ever eluding tentacles.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
I’m constantly exploring new platforms and structure for creating unique and original imagery. When I started my career I was doing editorial illustration work and freelancing in a major way. Since my induction to the commercial creative realm it was necessary for me and my work to bounce around. I found out quick freelance illustrators don’t make a lot of dough and began to do more graphic work to offset the slant. Since then, the fields have merged and advertising has assisted in the coalescence. When I’m not doing client work or anything commercial there is nothing more I love than to start filling a blank canvas in the studio. There is something mystical that happens somewhere between the hand, brush, and canvas that will never compare to the plastic pen tablet.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
My beard grows 0.75″ a month.
Name a few of your favorite things.
Looking through a lens. The smell of mineral spirits and oils. Tasting homemade wine and cheese. The sound of a distant train rumbling through the night. Collecting antique toys. Being humbled by mountains and oceans. Nostalgia…
What are your feelings on the new Pepsi logos?
They are spending way too much money on an unconvincing campaign reface!
Do you prefer cake, cupcakes, or coffee cakes?
I’m really more of a pie man…but I dig a red velvet cake…ooh yeah.
CMYK vs. RGB: which would win the battle?
CMYK would take the title due to millions of colors and smoother grays. Hey, what would we do without the K?
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
My favorite shirt is an old school Alice In Chains tee from the grunge days. Sad to say, it is totally falling apart and is way out of print. There is a front and back design and they look like they were Max Ernst collages or a rendition of…I so wish I could find this shirt again!
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
I spend way more time watching films than reading, but I would absolutely say that reading is way better…just less instant gratification-like. Right now I’m back and forth between Phillip K Dick and HP Lovecraft. I like to switch between retro science fiction and macabre horror lit.
What inspires your work?
Groups like Matmos, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Bloc Party, and Foals. Artists like Dali, Mark Ryden, Beksinski, and Brad Holland. Minds like Michelangelo, Maya Angelou, Copernicus, and Mandelbrot. Anything that takes me back in time… let’s reminisce.
